Your Skin Is Talking — Are You Listening?

Your skin is the largest organ in your body. It protects you, regulates you, and often speaks first when something internally is off. Yet so often, we treat it as an afterthought—putting just anything on it, or sometimes nothing at all.

As women, we mature. Our skin changes with the seasons of our lives, just as our bodies and minds do. The way we care for our skin should evolve right alongside us.

At 36 years young, my days of removing makeup with baby wipes are long gone. Like many millennials, I once slept in my makeup, woke up, touched it up, and went about my day. For a while, my skin tolerated it—until it didn’t.

As I’ve grown into a more healed version of myself, my skin has become drier, more reactive, and far more influenced by hormones. Around age 32, I made a commitment to truly dive into the science of skin—not trends or expensive promises, but real education and understanding.

The truth is, skincare isn’t about fighting age or buying an $80 miracle serum. Genetics, lifestyle, stress, hormones, nutrition, and environment all influence how our skin behaves. Some of us are luckier than others, but skin health should always be part of overall health.

Your skin often tells you when something inside is off—too much sugar, chronic stress, or hormonal imbalance. While dermatology plays an important role, quick fixes don’t always come with education. Skincare isn’t a magic solution; it requires curiosity.

Becoming an investigator of your skin—asking when an issue began and what changed—often reveals more than switching products ever will. This is where estheticians are often underestimated. Many of us are deeply trained in barrier health, skin physiology, and long-term skin support.

Investing in your skin isn’t vanity—it’s self-respect. Let 2026 be the year you invest in yourself, inside and out.

Love ya boo
